The Simpson Strong-Tie Strong-Bolt 2 Wedge Anchor STB2-75614 3/4” x 6-1/4” is not your average fastener. This wedge anchor is designed for use in cracked and uncracked concrete and masonry, making it a must-have for professional contractors on development sites. Common applications include beam and column anchorage, cable supports, elevators, escalators and more! The Strong-Bolt 2 Wedge Anchor can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or even overhead. This is one versatile mechanical anchor!

From its chamfered top designed to prevent mushrooming, to its clip segments which enable secondary expansion, this anchor was engineered to carry the load should a crack form upon installation. This Strong-Bolt 2 Wedge Anchor and all its components (nut, washer, and clip) are made of carbon steel with a zinc plated finish. It is ideal for indoor use with applications not exposed to water or harmful chemicals.

Installation of the Strong-Tie Strong-Bolt 2 is EASY! Follow these steps and tips.

• To install the Strong-Bolt 2 Wedge Anchor, select a drill bit matching the size of the anchor’s diameter. Make sure you have the right location—the Strong-Bolt 2 is NOT removable.
• Drill to the specified depth, making sure not to over drill. Oversized holes in the base material will make it hard for the anchor to expand properly, and as a result the load capacity will be diminished.
• Clear any dust from hole with compressed air or shop vacuum—an overhead application does not need to be blown clean. Gravity will clear the debris.
• Assemble the Strong-Bolt 2 so that the nut is flush with the top of the anchor and the washer is below the nut. (The anchor head is stamped with the length identification letter with bracketed top and bottom horizontal lines.)
• Place the assembled wedge anchor into the fixture and drive it into the base hole until the nut and washer are tight. Do not use an impact wrench to tighten the Strong-Bolt 2. Simply finger tighten the anchor or tighten to the specified concrete installation torque.
• You are finished! You now have superior holding, seismic and wind protection, and the peace of mind you need.
