Contractor-grade quality is only one of the many benefits of the Simpson Strong-Tie SDS-Plus with Hex MDPL01805H Drill Bit 3/16” x 5”. Use this 2-cutter head bit in various types of commercial construction. The SDS-plus shank features many enhancements, namely its chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel alloy body which improves ease of use, hammering quality and overall efficiency. Installers appreciate the centering tip for easy spot drilling, along with the uniformly brazed carbide inserts resulting in extended bit life.

This bit comes heat-treated with a shot-peened finish to increase surface hardness, while reducing drill bit wear and improving its bending resistance. It’s manufactured for efficiency with a chisel-shaped head that easily penetrates material while preventing sticking in concrete and removing dust upon use. Drilling speed is amplified on this bit with a patented, high-volume, multi-flute spiral. The SDS-plus shank works with the Titen Installation tool to allow pre-drilling and installation of Titen screws using a rotohammer. (Rotohammer must be in rotation-only mode before driving screws.) This compatible bit fits all current and older SDS-plus rotohammers from AEG, Black & Decker, Bosch, DeWalt, Hitachi, Hilti, Kango, Makita, Metabo, Milwaukee, Porter Cable, Ramset, Red Head, Ryobi and Skil.
