This Li-Ion Battery and Charger Starter Kit 36V/18V is part of the award-winning MultiVolt System from Metabo HPT. Unlike anything else on the market, the MultiVolt system lets you switch between corded and cordless power within the same tool. This kit (Item #UC18YSL3B1M) includes a 36V/18V battery and the rapid charger. The battery powers all MultiVolt tools, and is backward-compatible with Hitachi 18V Li-Ion (slide-style) tools.
A 4-stage fuel gauge on the battery makes it easier to monitor charge status. To prevent over-loading, over-charging, and over-discharging, the charger has a multi-plex protection circuit. As a bonus, the rapid charger has a built-in USB port for charging USB-enabled devices. Charging time for MultiVolt 36V tool batteries is 52 minutes or less. The battery is guaranteed by Metabo HPT’s two-year Li-Ion warranty, and the charger is guaranteed for one-year.
