Can loose nails be loaded in a stick nailer? Maybe taped together with masking tape?

Loose nails can be loaded into a palm nailer, such as the Hitachi NH90AB or the Senco PC1195, which are intended for joist hangers, fencing, decking and framing. But we don't recommend using single nails in any nail gun that requires collated nails.

Is there a collated sleeve loose nails can be inserted into and then loaded in the gun or do they have to be bought that way? I’m wanting to shoot two LVLs with sinker nails to make a beam and interested in buying a bostitch framing gun.

Unfortunately, to use a nail gun, you have to buy the collated nails that run through it. However, the tool is the most significant investment. Collated nails vary in price, depending on the fastener, but will significantly save time compared to bulk nailing.
